Eaton surf A world class paddleboard shaper, also a good second hand sale section and a very interesting section with links to legendary paddleboarders.

Paddleboards.com Another good resource and news site with a lively forum.

Yahoo paddleboard group A good yahoo group also with a good forum with professional paddlers who take part in it.You have to register with yahoo to join in but its worth it.

Chesapeake Light Craft Watercraft wooden kits from the USA, I recently purchased a 15'9 paddleboard kit and made it up, see the relevant section on this site. Dont be put off as they are wooden kits, their designs are quite cutting edge and the outer coats are epoxy resin and fibreglass cloth.

Gray Whale Trading Co Run by Larry Froley who was one of the major designers of the San O boards by CLC. He also has just developed a Stand Up wooden kit board as well, judging by the peformance of my San O, I am sure this is high end too.

www.paddleboardtouring.com George Weetman, a paddler on a modified San O board with extra touring space who goes on long voyages in the beautiful state of British Columbia, Canada.

www.susanchaplin.com Susan Chaplin, pioneering endurance paddleboarder from the West Indies

The Eddystone Surf Paddleboard Challenge Over 30 miles from Plymouth to the Eddystone lighthouse returning to Bantham Beach in the South Hams.

www.boardofeurope.com Paddling around the UK and Europe on a tandem board to raise money and awareness for water safety.

Links for conditions, outdoor, wave science etc

Easytide.com Good for local tide data, but never rely 100% on data, take into account conditions when you get there too.

Magicseaweed.com Aimed at surfers but good generalised reference for local swell and wind.

NOAA Buoy data This link goes to the UK section but the site has buoy data for many parts of the world.

The Met Office A UK based weather resource site. Lots of good live forecasts including general weather and also marine forecasts.

Scottish Outdoor Access Code Respect the outdoors by knowing the code.

www.stvedas.co.uk St Vedas Hotel and Surf Shop down in Coldingham bay Lothian. A nice place to surf if you are around that way and talk to Steve the owner who is very helpful and has a good shop for surf supplies.

Remember the best way to learn is through actual experience
